What's new

November 2026 (Plain 0.110.0)

  • Payroll calculates tax and super for you. PAYG, study loans, the Medicare levy variation, working holiday makers and bonuses all follow the ATO's formulas for payments from 1 July 2026. Super is 12% of qualifying earnings. See How Plain calculates pay, tax and super.
  • Pay runs start from standard hours, and leave accrues automatically when a pay run is approved.
  • Add your own bank accounts with an opening balance, and import statements as CSV, OFX, QFX or QIF. See Import a bank statement.
  • GST codes on every line, so your BAS draft fills in every figure. See GST codes explained.
  • Cash or accrual: prepare your BAS on either basis. See Cash or accrual.
  • Credit notes by line: credit one line of an invoice instead of the whole invoice.
  • Balance sheet now shows Retained earnings and Current year earnings.
  • Clearer errors: an unbalanced journal now tells you the difference.
